SBS FEATURED BY VICKI MARTINEZ IN BOULDER MAGAZINE

Street Business School is honored to have our story shared in Boulder Magazine. Our organization was founded by three women from right here in Boulder County, and Vicki Martinez of Boulder Magazine captured both the founding story and the current impact of SBS in her article, “Promoting Female Prosperity” on pages 86-88.

The article discusses the roots of SBS and how our mission was born, detailing the social franchise model SBS now uses to expand to communities around the globe.

“Since its inception, SBS has danced to the beat of a different drum. Unlike many other nonprofits, they operate under a social franchise business model. Through partner trainings, NGOs can deepen their mission and reach by becoming certified in Street Business School’s curriculum to offer new programs within their organization and community.

SBS Co-Founder and CEO, Devin Hibbard, discussed our foundational structure and current process for measuring the effectiveness of our curriculum. “The curriculum was created from about ten years of iteration in the field providing training to women—constantly gathering data, evaluating what worked, tweaking it and trying again—to understand what created the most impact.”
