FY26: A Year of Proven Results and a Foundation for Growth
By Evan Cauble-Johnson, CEO, Street Business School
FY2026 was a year of strong reach, meaningful outcomes, and important innovation for Street Business School. From July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, SBS trained 6,398 people: 197 directly by SBS trainers in Kampala, Uganda; 1,682 through major donor-funded projects across Uganda; 2,241 through the 350-strong certified partner network; and 2,278 through large partner initiatives.
The results went far beyond participation. Graduates trained directly by SBS reported 109% average income growth and an 82% business ownership rate. Across the partnership network, graduates reported 103% average income growth and 79% business ownership, continuing to build evidence that SBS delivers strong outcomes even as it expands through partners.
Four major initiatives also helped SBS test new approaches to our work:
- Project Ayimalu, implemented through a novel partnership with six grassroots NGOs in Buliisa, Uganda, graduated 671 people against a goal of 600; participants reported 81% average income growth.
- Project Kunihira, delivered for the first time through paid Community-Based Trainers in Fort Portal, Uganda, graduated 711 people against a goal of 600, with 96% average income growth.
- In partnership with three local Ugandan NGOs, we brought SBS to 254 refugees and Internally Displaced People against a goal of 150; participants reported an eye-popping 484% increase in income.
- Through the youth livelihoods partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), 196 young people graduated against a goal of 300, while graduates reported 215% average income growth. SBS also certified five WHH partners across three East African countries to continue testing the blended entrepreneurship and vocational-training model in the year to come.
FY26 demonstrated what is possible when donors, partners, trainers, and entrepreneurs work together. Continued donor support will be vital as SBS builds on these results, strengthens cost efficiency, and advances its 2026–2030 strategy to reach many more people with proven, life-changing entrepreneurship training.
