Thoughts from SBS Board of Directors Chair Barbara Lawson
In light of Devin’s decision to step down from her role as Street Business School’s CEO, I know I speak for the entire SBS Board of Directors in celebrating Devin’s incredible legacy as a founder, visionary, and driving force behind the establishment and growth of SBS’s world-class entrepreneurial training program. Everyone who encounters Devin feels her commitment to delivering the tools and confidence-building that enable women to lift their families out of poverty. Tens of thousands of women and their families have been the beneficiaries of her legacy.
In keeping with her focus on sustainable impact, Devin is stepping away at a point when SBS is in a position of strength: an amazing staff in the US, Africa, and around the world, strong program partnerships, committed supporters, a three-year strategic roadmap, and financial stability. The Board is confident that SBS will leverage these strengths of stability and continuity into its next phase of expansion and refinement. Devin will continue in her role as we recruit our next CEO and will then transition to a Board Emeritus role.
As we launch our search for our next CEO, we welcome the help of our friends and partners to identify an individual with the experience, and personal and professional attributes to take SBS to the next level of impact. We believe this is a wonderful opportunity for the right person and are excited about the future.
Chair, SBS Board of Directors
